Gareth Bale is a Welsh football player who plays as winger for Spanish club Real Madrid and national team of Wales. He started his professional career at Southampton and was noticed as a free kick specialist. He went to Tottenham Hotspur for a deal of £7 million in 2007. Bale became an essential element of the team from the 2009/10 season gaining international attention during the UEFA champions League 2010/11. He was called PFA Players’ Player of the Year and was named in the UEFA Team of the Year in 2011 and 2013. He was also called PFA Young Player of the Year and the FWA Footballer of the Year in 2013.

Bale moved to Spanish club Real Madrid on 1 September 2013 for secret fee. The English press said it was a world record transfer fee of £85.3 million which was above Cristiano Ronaldo’s record transfer fee of £80 million. He helped real Madrid to win the Copa del Rey and the Champions League by scoring goals in both finals.
