Ewen Mckenzie’s preparations for the Bledisole Cup were already facing problems but when he was announcing the squad at the press conference he was dragged into a new matter. Beale was alleged to send offensive texts to a team official in June and one of the back-room staff was abused by him. Although name of the victim has not been disclosed, it is said it was team’s business manager Di Patston. He denied the claims he knew the original texts in June four months before when they were presented to the Australian board officials. He said: “The text messages came in my knowledge in Buenos Aires. When it came into my knowledge I forwarded it.” It was being said that Beale problem was playing divisive role in the Wallabies camp but Mckenzie insisted that was not true. He said: “I think I do not have a divided squad. I know there are lots of talks in the newspapers and everybody has an opinion but I know my squad. I am open and frank so if there is a problem, we will disclose it.”
