England World Cup Player Iain Balshaw Retires from Rugby


Ex England World Cup 2003 winner Iain Balshaw has declared his retirement from rugby.He could not recover from a knee injury which he got while playing for Biarritz in France. Now Mike Tindall is the only member of England’s 2003 World Cup winning team who is still playing. Balshaw appeared on 35 occasions for England and came as a substitute in the World Cup final 2003. 
He said:” I thank every one of you especially of people at Bath, Leeds, Gloucester and Biarritz. I travelled all around the World because of you and made some life lasting friends.”He played his first senior match for bath in 1997 making 127 appearances for the club and then he moved to Leeds Tykes in 2004. He went to Gloucester after relegation from the Premiership in 2006. He then moved to French Top 14 side Biarritz in 2009.
