Profile of England Rugby Player Dylan Hartley


Dylan Hartley is a rugby union footballer born in New Zealand and plays for Northampton Saints and England at hooker. He plays for England because of his English mother. He went to Crow borough, East Sussex in 2002 and played the game through the Beacon Rugby Academy and local teams before he was selected for Sussex. He represented the club Worcester Warriors in the European Challenge Cup 2004-05 after joining it. Hartley moved to Northampton in 2005.

 He began in the Heineken Cup quarter final 2006-07 win against Biarritz Olympique, the season in which Northampton got relegated from the Premiership. The Northampton won the EDF Energy Trophy in the following season and was promoted from the RFU Championship. Hartley made his debut in Northampton when they defeated Bourgoin in the 20008-09 European Challenge Cup final. Northampton Saints made him their captain on 22 July 2009.
