Liverpool’s Sturridge Says Balotelli is Wrongly Understood as Wild

Daniel Sturridge has backed his Liverpool partner Mario Balotelli to answer his critics after a tough start to his career at Anfield saying he is misunderstood. Sturridge did not play for Liverpool since August due to thigh and calf problems so Balotelli struggled in the lone striking role as according to some of his critics his future at Anfield is doubtful. The striker got a boost from Tuesday’s goal in Capital One Cup win against Swansea who had yet to score a Premier League goal for the club, yet Sturridge insists Balotelli’s character on and off the pitch is not questionable. “I can do along with him and I enjoy working with him because Mario is actually cool, “said Sturridge.

“He is a normal young boy but everybody says same things about him that he is wild and then he ends up being labeled.  He is famous all over the world and it is just like being under the microscope and thus he gets scrutinized. I believe boys of his age or younger than him can do a lot crazier things than he can do. Everyone has flaws and makes mistakes and he is just finding his way.” Balotelli had a mixed reaction from Liverpool supporters as he entered the field for the game against Swansea on Tuesday but it turned to cheers as he scored a goal after seven minutes of his arrival.
