More New Players Are Invited to Bok Stellenbosch Training Camp

Springboks have invited eight more players to training camp in Stellenbosch following the conclusion of the First Division and the elimination of the Cell C Sharks and the Vodacom Blue Bulls from the Absa Currie Cup. Lwazi Mvovo, Cobus Reinach, Lourens Adriaanse, Handré Pollard, Rudy Paige, Marcel van der Merwe, Bongi Mbonambi and Boela Abrahams have been invited by the Springbok selectors to join as the team start their preparations for Castle Lager Outgoing Tour. These players will try to prove before the selectors what they can do before the selection of the final squad.

This is an ideal opportunity to see what these guys can do at certain positions that we are still considering,” said Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer. “Our scrumhalf situation is not ideal. We are inviting Rudy and Boela to introduce them to the to the Springbok culture. Most of the players have been members of our system before. I am sure they will impress us using this opportunity. We would also like to know them better and see their capability before finalising the squad.” The final announcement for the Castle Lager Outgoing Tour will be made on Monday, 27 October.
