Premier League September Awards Have Been Dominated By Southampton

Premier League has recognized Southampton’s impressive performance in September by nominating its members for the Player and Manager of the Month awards. Ronald Koeman has been nominated for the manager's award after he guided Saints to three wins out of three last month, while midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin and striker Graziano Pelle are named in the player category.  Chelsea's Jose Mourinho,Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock and Leicester boss Nigel Pearson are Koeman's opponents for the monthly award. Pearson had a tough win against Stoke before the Foxes got a stunning 5-3 victory over Manchester United, although Warnock's Palace, who had a goalless draw against Burnley and a battling win against Everton compelled Leicester to lose their unbeaten September record with a 2-0 win.

Mourinho guided Chelsea to the top of the Premier League after they defeated Swansea and Aston Villa and played a 1-1 draw with title opponents Manchester City, but Southampton enjoyed a perfect month after beating QPR, Swansea and Newcastle. Pelle scored three goals in September while Schneiderlin was noticed as one of the most dominant midfielders in the league because he also scored his third goal in two games against Newcastle. Manchester United’s Angel Di Maria, Leicester striker Leonardo Ulloa and Palace captain Mile Jedinak are also among the nominees for the Player of the Month award.
