Manchester United’s Victory over Real Madrid before Record Crowd

Manchester United has beaten Real Madrid in the presence of record Michigan crowd of 109,318. Ashley Young’s two goals and Javier Hernandez’s one goal helped United boss Louis van Gaal to win fourth game of the US tour. Manchester united will now compete with Liverpool in International Champions Cup final. Van Gaal has guided his team to win over Los Angles Galaxy, Roma and Inter Milan in the USA. Starting line- up of Real was not only without Ronaldo but they were also missing new signings Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez. But Bale, Luka Modric and Xabi Alonso were present in the squad.
Young scored a goal after 21 minutes but Real leveled 6 minutes later when Real were given a penalty shoot due to climbing of Michael Keane on Bale. Young’s cross over Iker Casillas’s head in 37 minutes put the United in the lead. The attention of the big crowd was grabbed by Ronaldo’s introduction with 17 minutes remaining but United preserved the victory when Hernandez scored third goal. France’s victory over Brazil by 2-0 at the Rose Bowl in California in the 1984 Olympic final observed the record attendance of 101,799 for a football match before this.
