Todd Clever is a rugby union player of America born on January 16, 1983. He captains the national team of the USA. He is presently playing NTT Shining Arcs in Japan and before that he played with the South African Lions of Super Rugby. He plays at flanker. Clever started his rugby at Santa Teresa High School in San Jose and represented the USA U19 squad in 2000-02. He played rugby for the University of Nevada, Reno at the college level and was a three time College All-American. He started his rugby career in New Zealand in 2006 by joining Harbour in the National Provincial Championship
He has scored 11 tries while playing from the USA as of June 2012 which ranked him third among all time US try scorers. Clever was elected as the North American Player of the Decade and the Ruggamatrix USA Player of the Decade for 2000-2009. He started his international career by playing against Argentina in August 2003. He played the Rugby World Cup 2007 from USA. Clever was nominated the USA Rugby Men’s Player of the Year in 2008.
