Profile of English Football Club Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace is a professional football club of England having origin in South Norwood, London. The club was promoted to the Premier League during the Football League season 2012-13. Its foundations were laid at The Crystal Palace in 1905. The club joined the Southern Football League Second Division when it could not be elected to The Football League. Palace won it and was promoted to the Southern League First Division which the club played for the next 15 years.

The Southern League Division One created the Football League Third Division in 1920.Palace was promoted to the Second Division because it won the 3rd Division. The club reached the First Division in 1969. Palace changed the nickname from The Glaziers to The Eagles and abandoned the claret and blue with red and blue vertical stripes to modernize its image. The club maintained itself in the top two divisions in 1977 and 1979. The club reached to an FA Cup Final and got third position in the First Division during the 1989-91 periods. The Palace was among the founding members of the Premier League in 1992.
